New Product Delivery | HuaDe Hydrogen Energy Delivers Residential Hydrogen-Electric Energy Storage System (HyESS-R) to European Client

Recently, HuaDe Hydrogen Energy’s independently developed, all-new HYESS-R product series successfully completed all testing and validation procedures and has been crated for shipment to Munich, Germany. This system is scheduled to make its global debut in June at the world's largest exhibition for photovoltaics and energy storage. Subsequently, it will be delivered to the client and installed this summer, remaining in continuous operation through the end of the year to complete its inaugural cross-seasonal, long-duration energy storage cycle validation.

The HYESS-R is primarily targeted at the residential hydrogen energy storage market. The system features a dual indoor-outdoor design: the indoor unit is primarily responsible for hydrogen generation and power generation, while the outdoor unit serves primarily as the hydrogen storage component. The indoor unit consists of four modules: a fuel cell (10 kW), a hydrogen generation unit (0.5 Nm³/h), a battery pack (23 kWh), and an energy management module. The outdoor section comprises a hydrogen compressor and a hydrogen cylinder rack; each rack contains 16 hydrogen cylinders. The system is capable of storing approximately 320 kWh of electrical energy and 270 kWh of thermal energy, and can be expanded to accommodate up to five such units.

In the context of detached residential homes, and when integrated with an existing solar power generation system, the HYESS-R system is capable of meeting a household's energy storage and consumption needs throughout the year across all seasons. In charging mode, the user's pre-installed solar power system first fully charges the battery modules; any surplus electricity is then utilized by an electrolysis module to generate hydrogen, which is subsequently stored in an outdoor hydrogen storage unit. As the battery charge gradually depletes, the fuel cell activates to convert the stored hydrogen back into electrical energy to recharge the batteries, while simultaneously generating thermal energy for household use—a capability that proves particularly valuable during the winter months, when sunlight is relatively weak yet heating demand is high.
